and thoih will never be the same again!!!

reading some of the other stuff on here i sort of get the feeling that youse are divided into christians/non-christians, and i just thought, seeing as i have no idea about my way around this place, that i should try and intervene in this. it's not how it ought to be. how do you think christianity would have worked if the twelve didn't talk to anyone that wasn't christian? yeah, nice trade god, you got twelve sinners into heaven and all it cost you was your son. christ didn't teach us to stay away from non-believers, in fact his biggest teaching in my my opinion was "love thy neighbor"

(this next bit is not worth reading if you are not religious)
and yeah, mr josh said in one of those things that i know the bible. hey, i don't even remember which testament most of the books are in. see, the volume of the word that i know isn't as important to me as getting as much meaning out of a certain verse as i possibly can, i don't read any of the prophets, or any new testament apart from rom, eph, cor, and gospels. see, cause christ was so wise, (i believe) he hid double meanings in certain passages, while some verses refer, as a subtext, to other parts of the bible. the jews love that sort of stuff, but people aren't as clever as that any more.

oh yeah, i read in another thread that Chris gave us three weeks for camp novelty to wear off. i hate to use guilt for anything, but it's purely a means to an end: where the hell were the rest of you today when we wanted to go do some work? kicking around a bloody football, that's where. i mean, what's more important, running around wasting time or OBEYING GOD!?!? i mean, that's all well and good if you're trying to lull the devil into a false sense of security, but somehow i don't think that's what's happening.

Anyway, looks like Chris was wrong, it only took most of you one week.

kudos to penny and norman, two who weren't at camp, for keeping it going.

Well me and josh were sick so that takes us out of it.

You just gotta balance between religion and leisure.
Some people just rather their lunchtimes spent messing around with friends over others.

I know this sounds stupid (and I'm gonna get some pretty outrageous comments) but I don't think what we're doing at lunchtimes is what we really should be doing, it's a bit overwhelming for some people and there's nothing better than ruining your reputation for being an sane, influencial individual (very important when bringing people to God) than having people run around talking about how loony you are cause you pray every lunchtime or something...

I'm not ashamed, I just got this feeling on saturday night (and others too) that it's just not the right way, Vicki was even trying to hint at it without trying to offend us too much.

There is nothing worse than deterring people from God by trying too passionatley to get them to follow Him.

Yeah, it's not that mucking around at lunchtimes is more important than worshipping God, there's just a time and a place. We can't try and rush things.

True but we still need to step out of the boat.

We can't just keep it as it always has been or the devil is going to win. We must not just fight for a school we must fight for our nation. Because we are at war.

And Im not going to sit around and do nothing, im getting out of the boat for this cause, and hope that im not fighting this alone.

It is NOT the way it has always been, we are talking now, stuff is happening! There has already been a change and things are happening! We just need to take it one step at a time.

I'm not saying sit around and do nothing, I'm just saying don't shout your head off and make people think Christians are loonys!

You aren't alone Norman, it's just whats the point of hopping out of the boat if the people you are trying to reach are still inside?

And I don't really get the at war thing either, why so violent when God wants forgiveness...

Wouldn't you be a bit angry if your creations have been off doing their own thing. Everything is happening that has been mentioned in the bible and its happening now.

Actually yes, apparently there have been 'signs'.

The pastor at Pring St was talking about the coming of Armageddon, I wasn't there but perhaps someone who might have been could elaborate???

i kinda agree with some, that we need to slow it down abit, with the jumping around and behaving like silly idiots (NORMAN), but that doesn't mean we should stop altogether, just slow down. we still need that respect from our peers (me and norman don't really need to worry there, we didn't have it in the first place), but we shouldn't stop what we're doing, because hey, it's been awesome.

And because our school is so culturally diverse and not discriminative...

By chaplin im sure he means: as well as a monk, and whatever other religious groups we may have at our school...

And why stop at religion? Why not bring in a physiotherapist... nutritionist... heck, why not bring in a military officer in case any of us feel the need for a good disciplining?

Lets face it, our school really doesnt need a chaplin... you all seem to be getting by just fine without one...

It's nice to have a bit of help Smile .

Yeah I was actually thinking about whether we needed a chaplain or not the other day, I just remember what used to happen when we had Bree though. Stuff actually happened and yeah, there were prayers on assembly and people got into God.

Yeah but religion is a very sensitive thing... and praying on assemly is basically pushing it onto people who probably dont want to hear it...otherwise they would go to church.

No prayers in public schools... thats off the simpsons...

Yeah, I still used to pray on assemblies back when I wasn't going to church/youth.

Elliot and Daniel talked to Miss ... she about it today, she seemed a bit reluctant, you know how she says no to things but tries to do it in a very 'political' way.[/code]

People aren't pushed into doing it, and as most people know, and have done in the past is, whenever the assemblies at school start most of us tune out. If you don't want to listen to it then tune out! but i think a chaplin is a good idea, but only for those who actually want it, say put it in a classroom during lunchtime or something. like they did a while ago.

Or as they have the Rugby League Class, they could start something like that but, with religion and such.

Just my views on things.
