not the book. the kind that moves through you when you finally understand that verse you've heard so many times... and never really thought about in too much depth.

we all know, at least most of us do, first corinthians chapter 13.
If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.
And if I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.
And if I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profiteth me nothing...

many of us also know about my opinion of big christian conferences. you go, you recieve the fire, you use the fire, you lose the fire.

because, though you may start a prayer group at school, or go about ministering to all your friends, and lay hands on the afflicted, if you have not love IT PROFITS YOU NOTHING!!!...

i could go further into it, but i think it's all there. if you don't have the fire, it can be prayed upon you. if you want it increased, ask god to increase it. if you're happy where you are, and don't want to be pushed backwards, share some love.

umm, yesterday my mum told me about a vision she had of heaven.

before that, she told me about a pastor giving a message saying that, the majority of christians have got god all wrong. some people think God is like a teacher, others that God is a parent, that God is a drug to make you feel good. others think he's someone to help us out of a hole. well, it's all wrong.

God is Love. simple as that. look at that passage in corinthians again... love is kind, keeps no record of wrongs, all the rest of it... it's not a passage for weddings, its a passage giving us a greater understanding of the Holy of holies.

but back to the vision my mother had. she said that the angels in heaven communicate by feelings, emotions. this is why no catholic ever got a response out of a monotonous chant in latin repeated sixty times, why i never got a response for ages, repeating a prayer of salvation with my mind empty. God doesn't listen to the words, he's heard them before. he listens to the hunger within us, listens for our spirit crying out in desperation...

Yeah, it took me crying my eyes out asking God for help to actually answer me. It seemed my prayers weren't enough, He couldn't just answer.. He needed to know that I truly wanted what I prayed for.

Yeah zomg!

Revelations for revelations huh?

I sorta had a revelation about why bad things happen, hoping on doing a little speech about it, wasn't really an epiphony I guess, just something I was kinda wanting to know and found out through scripture.

i've been having a lot of thought about the whole issue of god vs free will... mostly questions i've had answered.

why did god create fallible satan, i.e, angels and man, with free will?

how can christ be God (and therefore love) incarnate, and retain free will? see, the complexity of this lies in the fact that christ would have been compelled by love to die... thus avoiding free-will. he can't be free-will AND Love at the same time, unless i think about it and god gives me something.

why is there hell?

well... i reasoned that, for the first one, god (because he is eternal, therefore his 'gift' of freewill existed before creation began) is unable to punish us. rather he sits, unable to interfere (free will again) and watches us punish ourselves. if he can't punish us for falling, he can't destroy us. and that, for an eternal god, extends to withdrawing his power of not creating us, since refraining from creation is basically destruction. god's love, led to god's free will, led to god's creation, that's just how i've got it in my head, and i think it works, so there... feel free to correct.

the second. because christ stated that he only does the will of the father (again implying his divinity) his own free will is basically sacrificed along with his body upon the cross, sacrificed for the will of god, the will of love. kind of tricky to understand, but yeah... christ still had free will, though he chose to deliver it unto the father. there's another thing, when i got slain, my legs weren't under the jurisdiction of free will, they were under the jurisdiction of love. so love can override free will in some cases... romans 6:23 i think? the wages of sin etc...

third: hell. death. all those lovely things... the wages of sin etc again, god does this out of love, hard to believe, but it works... if no-one ever died, the world would be a disgusting place. that's what sin does, it destroys... so by taking us out of this world god is granting us a favour. god said to adam and eve, 'if you eat the fruit, you will die', or something, and they chose to take the fruit, with that they chose death, and ever since then creation has been a sad story of the wages of sin is death. christ comes along, the wages of sin is still death, but he takes our wages for us... hell, i figure that god didn't create it as bad as it is, we (humanity) MADE it that way, just as we made the world a bad place through sin, we made hell a worse place. hell is sin, and death, but without death, so there's no end to it. separation from god... the inverse of worship, really... the rich man cried out to lazarus, complaining of thirst, and i've found that sin has that effect on me, it dehydrates spiritually...

i have a whole new concept of hell, basically. it's not so much about fire and brimstone, it's that as well, but it's sin. and death...

but jesus defeated death, cleansed us of sin.

and that's worth praizinjeezes.
