 Post subject: Going to God first and the Penny and Emily proposition |

Mkay, Mrs Penny has had this stuck in my head for who knows how long...well from Sunday...it hasn't been able to get out.
We'd all like to say we go to God first right? I'd love to say it, it'd probably make my day/week if i could truthfully say "I got to God first." Hm so yes over the last couple of week's stuff happened, and everytime didn't go to God went to someone else.
Not relying on God, wow it amazes me how easily He got wooshed to the back of my mind. Didn't even think twice about putting Him at the back of my mind. Why? That's what i ask why? Going to someone else before Him. That's not right i say! He should be our number 1, Our rock, The one we go to when things get rough, When we think of someone to talk to He is the first in line.
But no, we put out freinds first go through them seeking there resolutions. Don't get me wrong i have no problem talking to freinds. But that often? Honestly truly that often? Might not be the same for you or anything but i feel atleast someone can relate out there.
And here it comes. The Penny and Emily Proposition:
Me and Penny where talking this arvo, about it all and we have 2 weeks. 2 weeks of if you feel the need to complain or talk or have a problem go to God, going to God first. If we need someone we go to Him then if we feel nothings happening going to our freinds. 2 weeks, mm not gonna be easy but it'll be worth it once it's done. If we succeed for those two weeks we just keep going. Hopefully it will turn into a want, a want to talk to God first a need infact.
So i say try it out. What do you have to lose honestly? If anything you can only gain from this. But aye you don't have to just it was on my mind and thought i should get it out. Tell me how it goes after 2 weeks i'm eager to know.

That's a great plan you two  Good to see you taking the initiative.
This is why I asked for prayer on Monday, to keep Him central for everything that's about to happen, not just to call Him in as a janitor when things start to go wrong.
I've found that as you spend more time praying, it becomes second nature. Over the past year I've gone from hardly praying to always asking for guidance. Following it is another story though.
This goes to everyone, doing this or not. Even if you don't want to, or can't, talk about something, ask someone for prayer. Two or more people gathering together in His name and all. |

all you have to do is just pray lots even when nothing comes up thank him for like everything th epeople in your life you have a house and you have food :p

it's not like it's a bad ting, going to people. after all, jesus had friends.
god provides us with people to talk things over with, because alot of the time we're not even ready for what god would tell us. maybe you want someone to help you stick to a godly decision? thing is, you need a chum, pal. |

nina went to see a number of psycho-majiggers, couns-a-fyers and medicate-oes... in the long run, she was worse off for it.
people couldn't help her. with time, she was the only one that could help herself, if god was denied.
